What We Do

We are a different kind of company! We understand that you, as the parent, are the expert on your child. This is not about the therapist “fixing” your child.  Our focus is family centered. We work with the entire family to address everyone’s challenges and needs, providing a concierge type service that extends to every aspect of your child’s life.

If you have a child who is struggling at school, home or in the community with staying focused and motivated, completing tasks large and small, and managing emotions and relationships, you have a child with executive functioning difficulties. These kiddos tend to fall through the cracks of most medically based or special education type services. Our goal is to proactively address your biggest concerns before they get out of control.

A New Model of Occupational Therapy

We start with an occupational therapy lens: holistic, developmentally based with an understanding of each child’s unique sensory, cognitive, and motor strengths and challenges, individual goals, and personal story. Then, with a neurodiversity affirming mindset, we form a plan for the whole family that takes into account each person’s meaningful occupations and activities of daily living.  This is what differentiates Kids Empowered 4 Life from an executive functioning or ADHD coach! We do so much more than address executive functioning skills, although they are a critical aspect of overall functioning.

ADHD/Executive Functioning Skills Therapy and Family Services

“My child is smart but often can’t remember to do the assignments or turn them in!” “My child is so disorganized and always late!” Do these sound familiar in your house? We can help with one on one coaching.

Parent Coaching

Parenting is hard! ADHD is a whole family issue: it impacts the parent/child relationship, as well as relationships with siblings and friends, and it affects school satisfaction and performance.

Using an authoritarian parenting style results in the inevitable power struggle, with only one party (the parent) “winning” and the other (child) being told what to do, and often resisting or only complying in exchange for a reward. The parent feels frustration and resentment over having such a “difficult” child and the child feels sad and angry and out of control. The cycle continues, unless you are willing to try something different.

Occupational Therapy Evaluation, Recommendations and Services through Arizona ESA

If you live in Arizona, you are likely familiar with the Empowerment Scholarship Account Program. Arizona believes that parents have a right to choose what type and form of education is appropriate for their child and family, and to use state education dollars toward that goal.

Many of the families that I serve choose to homeschool. They may understand curriculum and how their child learns, but they do not have access to school services such as therapies that enhance fine and gross motor development and coordination, sensory processing, and specific learning challenges like dysgraphia or dyslexia.

Kids Empowered 4 Life has been an approved ESA vendor since 2020. We love to work with families who homeschool, whose kids are in online school, or who use other non-traditional methods of educating children.

While much of our work serves kids and teens who are neurodiverse (ADHD and Autism), we have also worked with children of all ages and diagnoses since 2011. We prioritize evaluating your unique child and providing specific recommendations for home therapies and/or equipment and supplies as needed.

Arizona’s ESA program currently serves more than 59,000 students! If your child needs occupational therapy and related services, please reach out!

I’m Abigail Wool-Biringer. I earned my Master of Arts degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of Southern California in 1997. Go Trojans! I moved to Phoenix in 2004 and have been working exclusively with the pediatric population since 2010. I work with children of all ages and diagnoses, with special interest in feeding issues, ADHD, executive skills dysfunction, and autism spectrum disorder. I believe that there is a large group of underserved kids out there that could be making gains in leaps and bounds if they are empowered with the right type and frequency of intervention.

I am married and I have two sons, two step-sons, and two dogs. In my spare time, I enjoy running, hiking, gardening, and spending time with my family.
