Online Summer Workshop Series for Parents of Children with ADHD
Join us in June and July for value-packed online workshops where you will come away with real tools to use immediately. You can read books and blogs and listen to podcasts all day without ever implementing any of the information learned. These small classes will close that gap by addressing your personal struggles with real examples and time for Q & A.
Workshop Series Includes:
Is it Behavior or Sensory? Distinguishing between the two, and what to do to help your child. This workshop will discuss how behavior is communication as well as what sensory “red flags” to look for that will be a sure tip-off that your child is communicating to you. We will also discuss sensory interventions to try as a first line of assistance for your child. Navigating Power Struggles. A step-by-step guide to stop the standoffs and start having more peace in your home. No parent enjoys being locked in a power struggle – and the desire to not budge an inch can leave both you and your child in a frustrating cycle that repeats. This workshop will discuss gentle but effective techniques that will lead to improved problem solving and emotional regulation. Streamlining Routines. Evening, morning, and those crazy vacation schedules can all run smoother with a few key tips just for kids with ADHD. If you’ve tried timers, visual schedules, bribes and threats and you still struggle with daily routines, this is the workshop for you! We will discuss practical problem-solving methods that you can use immediately. We will touch on homework, too, but be sure to sign up for the School Success workshop if that is your main struggle! Supporting Emotional Regulation. We will define what regulation is, how to help your child achieve and maintain a state of felt safety, and how to advocate for their own self-regulation needs. This workshop will do more than add tools to the self-regulation toolbox; it will give you the tips and strategies needed so that your child can effectively use them when needed. This is a must-attend for all parents of children with ADHD who struggle to stay regulated! Set up for School Success. From homework routines to backpack and desk organization, this is everything you need to start the new school year on the right foot. Start the new school year with more than good intentions! Start with a practical plan that will really work this year. This workshop will tackle everything school-related so you can all feel more confident for 2022.
